These are the prices the quotes use. Every page shows the exact quote before anything is charged.
USD examples for text-to-video, calculated from the current model rates and each plan’s credits. Counts round down to whole clips; per-clip amounts use the price per credit, rounded to two decimals. Leftover credits remain in your balance. These are estimates, not a guarantee of usable results. Other settings change the quote.
Monthly rows use one month’s price and credits. Yearly rows use the full annual payment and all credits granted for that year. Packs are one-time purchases; the first-order pack is once per eligible account. Failed generation jobs automatically return their credits to your balance, not your bank card.
Each row is a clip we recorded on Cicadas, priced at its exact settings today. Your own settings change the count; yearly plans grant twelve months of credits at once.
When credits come back
- A generation fails, or its file fails our check: the job’s credits return automatically.
- Object removal finds nothing in your box: full refund before anything is erased.
- Motion control delivers fewer seconds than quoted: you pay only for the delivered seconds.
- A finished video that works but that you don’t like is still charged; returned credits are credits, not a card refund.

Pricing questions
How many credits does a 5-second AI video cost?
It depends on the model and resolution: from about 38 credits with Luma Ray 3.2 to about 276 with Seedance 2.5, at each model’s lowest resolution without optional sound. Every page shows the exact quote before you generate.
Do I see the exact price before I generate?
Yes. Next to the Generate button the form shows the credits the clip will cost before you submit, and the number updates as soon as you change the model, length, resolution or sound. For a video generation that is the amount charged, once, when the job starts.
Do credits expire?
Subscriptions renew and grant credits each billing period; unused subscription credits expire at the end of the period. Annual plans grant the year’s credits at once. Credit packs are a one-time purchase, valid for 365 days.
Do I need a subscription?
No. Credit packs are a one-time purchase with no auto-renewal: buy a pack, spend the credits on any model, and nothing is charged again. Monthly plans are there for people who generate every week, and you can cancel one in Settings → Billing.
Am I charged if a generation fails?
No. If a generation fails or the file fails our check, that job’s credits go back to your balance automatically. A finished video that works but that you don’t like is still charged, so check the quote and the examples first. The return is automatic, with nothing to request, and shows in Settings → Credits.
Do returned credits go back to my card?
No. Credits returned for a failed job go back to your Cicadas balance, not to your payment method. For billing questions, email support@cicadas.ai.
Which credits are used first?
The ones that expire soonest. Signup, subscription and pack credits each keep their own expiry date.
Where can I see what I was charged?
Settings → Credits lists every charge and every credit that came back; Payments and Billing list your orders and subscription.
How do I cancel a subscription?
In Settings → Billing, choose Cancel subscription. You keep access until the end of the current billing period.
Do sample downloads cost credits?
No. Downloading an example MP4, its source image or its recipe uses no credits; only generating does.
Why do prices differ between models?
Each model is priced per second and by resolution; some charge more when sound is on, and some always include sound. The table lists each model’s credits per second and the price of its shortest clip.
Who can buy the first-order credit pack?
Once per account, for accounts with no successful live payment. A previous standard pack or subscription purchase also uses up eligibility. If you already have an unpaid first-order checkout, continue that order; the offer may be unavailable while eligibility is being confirmed.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Pay by card through Stripe. Checkout shows the amount and currency for your purchase.
