About Cicadas.ai: Who We Are and How We Test

What Cicadas is

Cicadas.ai is an independent AI video studio for independent creators and small brands. One account and one credit balance give you current video models (Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1 Fast, Seedance 2.5 and 2.0, Wan 3.0 and 2.7, MiniMax H3, Grok Imagine and LTX-2.5), script-to-video tools for faceless videos and UGC-style ads, and editing tools such as object removal, background removal, upscaling, extension, lip sync and motion control.

Who we are

Cicadas is built and written by the Cicadas editorial & testing team. The same team runs every test you see on the site, writes the guides and answers support email.

We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Google, Kuaishou, ByteDance, Alibaba, MiniMax, xAI, Lightricks, ElevenLabs or any other model maker. We call their models through fal.ai, a third-party model platform, and say so on each page.

How we test

Every example on Cicadas is a real generation made through the site itself, not a vendor demo. Each one keeps its model, settings, date, credit cost and the provider's request ID, and its description says what went wrong as well as what worked: garbled sign text, a face that changes mid-shot, a camera cut the prompt did not ask for, or audio that differs from the prompt. Audio descriptions come from an automated listening model and are worded carefully where it could not tell sounds apart.

How we make money

You buy credits and spend them on generations. Every page shows the exact credit quote before anything is charged. If a generation fails, or the file fails our check, the credits come back automatically. A finished video that works but that you don't like is still charged. We do not sell your personal information; see the privacy policy.

Data and security

• Generation: when you generate, the model provider receives your prompt, any reference image or video and your settings, through fal.ai. fal's own privacy terms apply to that request.
• Payments: handled by third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers.
• Your files: projects, uploads and results belong to your account, and account checks limit who can open private media.
• Your data: we do not sell your personal information. There is no self-service account deletion yet; email us to ask about your data.

Content policy

We do not build face swap, deepfake, adult, watermark-removal or video-downloader tools. The content policy lists what is not allowed and how to report misuse.

If something on the site is wrong or out of date, or you have a question about your account, email support@cicadas.ai. When we correct a page, we update its date.
