About Kling 4.0 on Cicadas

Kling 4.0 is the model Kuaishou now leads its Kling site with, and fal serves it as kling/v4: clips of 3 to 30 seconds at 720p or 1080p, with per-shot prompts and up to ten keyframes in image mode. This page runs the part Cicadas has wired: a written prompt or one image, 5 or 10 seconds, 720p or 1080p. fal's Kling 4.0 pages list no sound option, yet both clips we recorded came back with a sound track, so expect sound. Every quote comes from fal's list price of $0.157 per second at 720p and $0.235 at 1080p, and it shows before you generate.

The same café photo and harbor prompt were also run on Kling 3.0, where you can also turn sound off. For up to 30 seconds, use Seedance 2.5; Veo 3.1 and MiniMax H3 Max also make sound in the same pass. Every model side by side is on all models.

Why use Cicadas for Kling 4.0

Our first two Kling 4.0 clips

On 2026-10-30 we ran Kling 4.0 at 720p for 5 seconds on two inputs the site had already recorded on Kling 3.0 Pro, so you can compare them on the same prompt. From the café photo, steam rises and curls while the camera eases in, and the cup, plate and croissant keep their shape; it came back in about 4 minutes. From text alone, a row of gulls lifts off a stone pier at dawn beside moored fishing boats, with no text in the picture; about 2 minutes. Both are 1280 × 720 at 24 fps. Both also came back with a sound track, although fal lists no sound option; we have not identified those sounds by ear.

What changed from Kling 3.0

On fal, Kling 3.0 Pro runs 5 or 10 seconds with optional sound and no resolution choice. Kling 4.0 runs 3 to 30 seconds, adds a 1080p tier, accepts a separate prompt per shot and, in image mode, a start frame, an end frame and up to eight frames in between. Cicadas offers Kling 4.0 at 5 or 10 seconds from text or one image; the longer lengths, shots and keyframes are not wired here yet.

Text or one image

Type one paragraph, or upload one JPG, PNG or WebP you are allowed to use. Text mode lets you pick landscape, portrait or square; image mode keeps the shape of your picture, which fal requires to sit between 0.4 and 2.5 width to height.

Two resolutions, two prices

At 720p a 5-second clip is 197 credits and 10 seconds is 393; at 1080p they are 294 and 588. On the $9.90 first pack of 1,000 credits that is about $1.95, $3.89, $2.91 and $5.82. Kling 3.0 Pro costs 140 credits for 5 seconds without sound, so Kling 4.0 at 720p is about 40% more.

Sound you cannot switch off

fal's Kling 4.0 text-to-video and image-to-video pages list no sound field, but both clips we recorded came back with a sound track, so there is no sound switch here and the quote already includes it. Listen before you post, and mute it where you publish if you need silence. To choose silent or with sound, use Kling 3.0 Pro.

How to use Kling 4.0

Choose text or image. For image mode, upload one picture you may use and crop it first, because the clip keeps its shape.

  3. 03

Generate, then watch the whole MP4 for hands, faces, text on signs and unexpected cuts before you download it from My videos.

  • “Morning fog lifts off a terraced tea plantation as a single picker in a wide straw hat walks slowly along a row. Slow aerial push forward, soft golden light, one continuous shot. The picture stays free of writing, letters and logos.”

  • “A glass of iced coffee on a marble counter: milk pours in and blooms into slow swirls while condensation runs down the glass. Locked macro shot, shallow depth of field, one continuous shot. The picture stays free of writing, letters and logos.”
