Crying Filter AI Video
Crying filter on your own photo as a 5-second clip: the eyes fill, a tear runs down, the lip trembles. The photo stays the first frame, the face stays yours. 63 credits, adults only.
Crying Filter AI Video puts the crying-filter look onto your own photo and makes it move: with MiniMax H3 Max the eyes well up and one tear runs down the cheek, or the lower lip trembles and the eyes redden, over 5 seconds with a quiet sound track. The photo is the first frame and the face stays yours. A clip is 63 credits, about $0.62 on the $9.90 first pack, quoted before you generate.

5s · MP4About crying filter on Cicadas
A crying filter is the effect where a normal photo of someone turns into them on the verge of tears: glassy eyes, a wobble of the lip, a tear that spills. It is usually a still-image overlay; here it is a short video. You upload one photo of yourself, or of an adult who agreed, and that photo is the first frame: the model keeps the face, the hair, the clothes and the room as photographed and changes the expression over 5 seconds. Three versions: Welling tears, where the eyes fill and one tear runs down; Trembling lip, where the person tries to keep a straight face and fails; By the window, where the light dims as if rain had started and the gaze drops. MiniMax H3 Max makes the clip with its own quiet sound, 5, 10 or 15 seconds. This is a filter-style change on your own face in your own picture, not a face swap: nothing is cut out, nothing is pasted onto anyone else. Photos of children are not accepted. A 5-second clip is 63 credits.
Other looks from one photo on the same first-frame path: the vanish effect, where the subject dissolves, the bouncy hair clip, and animate a photo for small motion with the expression kept as photographed. To make the photo speak instead, see the talking photo page.
Crying filter examples made on Cicadas
Welling tears: her eyes fill and one tear runs down.
MiniMax H3 Max image to video, 5 seconds at 480P, from the site's AI-made 3:4 photo of a smiling woman in a hallway. The page's Welling tears prompt, sent once. Her smile fades, the brow knits, the lower lip trembles and by the third second a tear runs down her right cheek; the framing stays fixed, the face stays recognisably hers, nothing written anywhere. Sound removed for this page.
Use this recipe ↗By the window: the light dims and his gaze drops.
MiniMax H3 Max image to video, 5 seconds at 480P, from the site's AI-made 3:4 photo of a bearded man on a street. The page's By the window prompt, sent once. He lowers his gaze, the smile goes and a tear runs down his left cheek; the street and jacket stay as photographed. The prompt's dimming window light has nothing to act on in a street photo, so the clip shows the lowered gaze and the tear, not a light change. Sound removed for this page.

Three crying looks
Welling tears: the eyes slowly fill until they glisten, the brows draw together, one tear spills and runs down the cheek. Trembling lip: the lower lip starts to shake, the eyes go red at the rims, a hard blink, a tear caught on the lashes. By the window: grey light drifts across the face as if rain had begun, the gaze lowers, a tear slides down. Each is one prompt you can edit.
The face is still yours
Your photo is the first frame, so the model starts from your own features and only moves the expression. It does not replace the face, put it onto another body or into another video, and this page offers no such thing. What varies between runs is how far the expression goes, not whose face it is.
Whose photo, and which one
Your own, or an adult who agreed to be shown crying; no celebrities, no public figures, no children and nobody who did not agree, since the result is easy to mistake for a real moment. A sharp, front-facing photo with the eyes clearly visible gives the tears somewhere to form; sunglasses or a half-turned head leave the model guessing.
Price before you generate
At 480P a 5-second clip is 63 credits, about $0.62 on the $9.90 first pack of 1,000 credits; 10 seconds is 125 and 15 seconds is 188, and 768P raises them to 100, 200 and 300. The quote is on the button; a failed job refunds itself, a finished clip you dislike is still charged.
How to use crying filter
- 01
Sign in and add one clear, front-facing photo of yourself or of an adult who agreed, eyes uncovered. No photos of children.
- 02
Pick Welling tears, Trembling lip or By the window, keep 5 seconds or choose 10 or 15, and read the quote.
- 03
Generate, watch the clip through, and download it from My videos; try the next look on the same photo if the first one went too far or not far enough.
Crying filter or animate photo?
Both start from one photo as the first frame. The animate photo page is for motion that leaves the expression as it is, a blink, a breath, a turn of the head, on a silent model. This page changes the expression on purpose and comes with sound. If the photo is of someone who has died, use neither: the memorial page is written for that and keeps the face still.
Other looks from the same photo
The vanish effect dissolves the subject into drifting particles while the room stays; the bouncy hair clip gives a slow-motion hair flip. Both run on the same model, the same 5 seconds and the same price, from the same photo.
What to check before posting
That the face still looks like the person, that the tears are where tears go and not on the forehead, and that the lower half of the frame carries no lettering. If the expression barely changed, run the Trembling lip look, which asks for more; if it went too far, edit the prompt down to one tear.
Crying filter prompt ideas

“The photo is the first frame and the framing stays fixed. The eyes of the person in the photo slowly fill with tears until they glisten, the brows draw together a little, and one tear spills over and runs down the cheek. The chin drops slightly. Face, hair, clothes, lighting and background stay as photographed; nobody else appears. One continuous shot, no cuts. Sound: a quiet room and one shaky breath, no music, no words. No text, no logos.”
“The photo is the first frame and the framing stays fixed. The person in the photo tries to hold a straight face: the lower lip begins to tremble, the eyes go glassy and red at the rims, they blink hard and a tear catches on the lashes. Everything else, the face, the hair, the clothes and the background, stays as photographed. One continuous shot, no cuts. Sound: a soft sniff and a held breath, no music, no words. No text, no logos.”
“The photo is the first frame and the framing stays fixed. Soft grey window light drifts across the person in the photo as if rain had started outside; their gaze lowers, the eyes fill with tears, and one tear slides down slowly while the shoulders sink a little. Face, hair, clothes and background stay as photographed. One continuous shot, no cuts. Sound: faint rain on glass, no music, no words. No text, no logos.”
Crying filter FAQ
Tested on Cicadas · reviewed 2026-10-28
Recorded on 2026-10-28 (two clips, docs/research/claude-newpages-20261028/samples/): the MiniMax H3 Max image-to-video path, photo as the first frame, 5 seconds at 480P, on the site's AI-made sample adults. In both a tear runs down one cheek, the brow knits and the lip trembles while the face stays recognisable and the framing holds; in the street photo the prompt's dimming window light had nothing to act on. Not run: the Trembling lip prompt, 10 and 15 seconds, 768P.
