Content Policy

Tools we do not build

Some video tools are popular, but Cicadas does not offer them and will not add them:

• face swap or deepfake tools that put a real person's face or voice onto someone else;
• adult or sexual content generators;
• tools that remove watermarks or logos;
• downloaders that copy videos from other websites.

What you may not make

In addition to the Terms of Service, do not use Cicadas to create or share:

• any content that sexualizes minors;
• sexual or intimate imagery of a real person;
• video that uses a real person's face, body or voice without their permission, or that impersonates someone to deceive viewers;
• content that harasses or threatens people or promotes violence against them;
• product claims you know to be false, or material that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark;
• anything that is illegal where you or your viewers are.

People, likeness and consent

Several tools work with people: UGC ads (a presenter picture that speaks), lip sync, motion control, and image to video from a portrait. Use your own likeness, someone who has agreed, or a fictional person you created. The UGC ads, lip sync and motion control pages ask you to confirm that you have permission before anything is charged.

Model providers have their own rules

Generation runs on models from Google, Kuaishou, ByteDance, Alibaba, MiniMax, xAI, Lightricks and others, through fal.ai. Their safety filters can refuse a prompt or an image. When a paid job is refused or fails, its credits come back to your balance; our test log includes a refused request.

Label AI video

When you publish a video made with AI, say so, especially when it shows people. Many platforms require it.

Report misuse

If you find content made with Cicadas that breaks this policy, or someone using your likeness without permission, email support@cicadas.ai with a link or a description and the date if you know it. We review every report and can suspend or close accounts that break this policy.
