Free AI Video Generators: What 12 Free Plans Actually Give in November 2026
Free credits, watermarks and limits of 12 AI video generators, read on each vendor's own pages in November 2026: which give daily credits, which give a one-time bonus and which give none.
Video examples here were generated on Cicadas and keep their model, settings and date. Cicadas earns money when you generate with these models. How we test

In short: most "free AI video generators" give you a small allowance, not free videos. On the vendors' own pages on 2026-11-01, four give credits every day: Google Flow (50 Flow credits, about five short Veo 3.1 Lite clips), Dreamina (120 credits for US free users), PixVerse (30 credits after 60 to start) and Vidu (a login bonus of unstated size). Runway and Hailuo give a one-time amount. Kling, Higgsfield, Pika, Luma, the Gemini app and, as far as xAI's pages say, Grok Imagine give no free video credits at all. Free output is watermarked almost everywhere, and commercial use is often excluded. Cicadas has no free plan either, only one watermarked trial clip per new account; after that its cheapest clip is MiniMax H3 Max, 63 credits (about $0.62) for 5 seconds at 480P with sound.
We make Cicadas, an AI video generator that runs several of these models per clip. Every free-plan statement below comes from the vendor's own pricing page, help center or terms, read on the date given in the table. Where a vendor does not state something, the table says "not stated"; where a page would not load for us, it says "could not check".

2. Daily free credits: Google Flow, Dreamina, PixVerse, Vidu
Google Flow. Google's Flow credits help page says that with or without a subscription you receive 50 Flow credits a day; the daily refresh is triggered by your first generation, so a new 50 arrives the day after, and unused credits do not roll over. Its cost table puts Veo 3.1 Lite at 10 credits per 4, 6 or 8-second clip, Veo 3.1 Fast at 20 and Veo 3.1 Quality at 100, so 50 credits buy five Lite clips or two Fast clips and no Quality clip. Gemini Omni Flash costs 12 credits for 8 seconds at 720p and 6 at 360p. Two catches from the same pages: during peak hours, roughly 2 PM to 5 PM UTC, non-subscribers may not be able to generate video at all, and one request can produce two videos, each charged separately. Google's "Get started with Google Flow" page lists a Google AI subscription among the requirements to use Flow, so whether a free account gets in may depend on your region and account. Our Veo 3.1 page and Gemini Omni Flash page run both model families per clip.
Dreamina. Dreamina's credits FAQ, dated 2026-10-27, says free users currently get 120 credits a day and that no credit card is required; a second Dreamina article says 120 is the US figure. The FAQ gives no number of clips, because the cost depends on model, length, resolution and mode. We cover the Seedance 2.5 side in Is Seedance 2.5 free? and the paid plans in Dreamina pricing.
PixVerse. PixVerse's information page, last updated 2026-10-19, says the Basic plan panel lists 60 initial credits and 30 daily credits, that daily credits renew at 00:00 UTC and expire at the end of the day, and that watermark-free output starts with the $10 Standard plan.
Vidu. The FAQ on Vidu's pricing page lists four ways to get credits, including trial credits at sign-up and credits for logging in every day, without amounts. Its download prompt asks free users to subscribe for HD downloads without a watermark. For Vidu's paid plans and Q4 credit rates, see Vidu pricing.
3. One-time credits: Runway and Hailuo
Runway. The Free card on Runway's pricing page gives 125 one-time credits and "a selection of generative creative models". The same page prices Gen-4.5 at 60 credits for 5 seconds, so if Gen-4.5 is in your free selection, 125 credits make two such clips. The card lists "No watermarks" from the $15 Standard plan up, not on Free. More in Runway pricing.
Hailuo. Hailuo's subscription terms (last updated 2025-07-14) say new users get a one-time welcome package of free credits that expires three days after it is granted, and that free users' downloads include a watermark. The amount is not stated in the terms. Hailuo's own model, MiniMax H3 Max, is on our Hailuo AI page and MiniMax H3 page.
4. No free video credits: Kling, Higgsfield, Grok, Pika, Luma, Gemini app
- Kling. Kling's credits policy, read on 2026-11-01, says daily login credits are for subscribers, during events, in amounts the platform announces, and lists watermark removal and 1080p as premium-only. When we read the membership page on 2026-10-17, Basic was $0 with no monthly credits (Kling AI pricing). Our Kling 4.0 page runs Kling per clip.
- Higgsfield. Its help center (August 2026) says you can generate without a paid plan, but only on a small set of models and with no credits, and that every generation on a free account carries a Higgsfield watermark. See Higgsfield pricing.
- Grok Imagine. xAI's Grok FAQ says paid users share one weekly usage pool across Chat, Imagine, Voice and Build, and names free-tier limits only for Chat and Voice. It states no free Imagine video allowance, and xAI's pricing page refused our reader. The FAQ is clear on one point: every Grok Imagine image and video has a Grok watermark and there is no setting to remove it. We run Grok's video model on the Grok Imagine page.
- Pika. The Free plan shows 0 credits a month and "packs only": you buy credits at 60 per dollar. Pika is the one vendor here that lists "No watermark" on Free, but Free has no commercial licence. See Pika pricing.
- Luma. The pricing page starts at Plus, $30 a month for 10,000 credits, and lists no free plan. Luma's Ray 3.2 runs on our Luma Ray 3.2 page.
- Gemini app. Google's Gemini Apps limits page has a feature table in which video generation is ticked for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra and not for users without a plan.
5. Which free option fits which job
- You want to try several top models at no cost: Google Flow, if your account can use it, outside 2 PM to 5 PM UTC. Five Veo 3.1 Lite clips a day is the most free video we found.
- You want something every day without a card: Dreamina's 120 daily credits, if you are in the US, or PixVerse's 30.
- You want two good clips once: Runway's 125 credits.
- You need a clean file for a client or an ad: none of the free plans fits well. Most mark free output or exclude commercial use, so plan to pay for the clip you publish.
- You make a few clips a month: paying per clip is usually cheaper than a subscription you will not use up.
6. Cicadas: one trial clip, then a low price per clip
Cicadas has no free plan and no daily credits. A new account gets one voucher, valid for 7 days, for a fixed 5-second, 480P watermarked clip on a supported page, while daily free places last; security checks may ask you to verify your email. After that you buy credits and see the exact quote before each clip; the $9.90 first pack holds 1,000 credits, so a credit is a little under one cent. The lowest price on the site is MiniMax H3 Max: 63 credits (about $0.62) for 5 seconds at 480P, or 100 credits (about $0.99) at 768P, with sound included. Paid clips download from My videos without a watermark, and if a generation or its delivery fails, the credits come back automatically. Other models, including Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1 and Vidu Q4, are priced per clip on their pages; packs and plans are on the pricing page.
The cover of this post is minimax-city-rain, a 5-second, 480P, vertical text-to-video clip with sound that we recorded on the MiniMax H3 page: colorful umbrellas crossing a wet city street at night, seen from a high window. At today's price that clip is the 63-credit case above.
How we checked
On 2026-11-01 we loaded each vendor's own pages: Google's Flow credits help, Get started with Google Flow and Gemini Apps limits; Dreamina's credits FAQ; PixVerse's information page; Vidu's pricing page; Runway's pricing page; Hailuo's subscription terms; Kling's credits policy; Higgsfield's help articles on plans and watermarks; xAI's Grok FAQ; Pika's pricing page; and Luma's pricing page. Kling's membership page and Hailuo's plan panel load only in a signed-in app, so for Kling we cite our 2026-10-17 reading, and for Hailuo we cite the terms. xAI's pricing page and PixVerse's subscription page blocked our reader. We did not sign up for or generate on any of these services for this post, so allowances that only show inside an account, and regional differences, are outside what we could check. Cicadas prices come from the per-second rates in our generator, rounded up to whole credits as the generator does, at the $9.90 first pack; the trial voucher terms are those on our pricing page. Method: how we test.
