Higgsfield Free Trial, Promo Codes and What a Free Account Gets

In short: Higgsfield is free to sign up for, but there is no free trial running. Its help center says plainly that there is no trial period; what you get without paying is a free account with a small set of models, no credits, a Higgsfield watermark on every generation and, per Higgsfield's own pricing article, no commercial use. The $0 one-day trial and the July referral deal are over, and the unlimited offer running now comes only with paid plans. Promo codes do exist, but Higgsfield hands them out through its social channels, Discord events and support, not on a public page, so any code you find on a coupon site is unverified. If what you need is one clean clip at a known price, a 5-second MiniMax H3 Max clip on Cicadas is 63 credits, about $0.62, with no subscription.

We make Cicadas, an AI video site that competes with Higgsfield. Everything below about Higgsfield comes from Higgsfield's own help center, blog and product pages, read on 2026-11-01; each claim names its page. We did not sign up, redeem a code or generate on Higgsfield for this post.

1. What a free Higgsfield account gets

Four Higgsfield pages describe the free tier, and one of them disagrees with the others on credits.

  • Models. The help center article "How do Higgsfield plans work?" (dated August 1, 2026) says you can generate without a paid plan, but access is limited to a small set of models and does not include credits.
  • A welcome bonus, maybe. Higgsfield's AI image page answers "Is Higgsfield free to use?" with 10 free credits as a one-time welcome bonus for image generation. That line is not dated and conflicts with the help center's "doesn't include credits", so treat it as image-only and possibly out of date.
  • Watermark. The help center article on watermarks (dated August 3, 2026) says every generation on a free account carries a Higgsfield watermark, there is no setting to turn it off, and subscribing later does not clean up files you already made.
  • Commercial use and speed. Higgsfield's pricing explainer (dated October 24, 2026) lists the free tier as not for commercial use and limits it to one video job at a time.

So a free account is for looking around and testing prompts, not for publishing client or brand work.

2. The free trial: what ran, and when it ended

Higgsfield has run free or near-free offers before. None of the ones below is open on 2026-11-01.

  • One-day trial, ended July 23, 2026. A Higgsfield blog post dated July 22 described a 24-hour trial of unlimited generation on 20+ models for new users on the free plan. It cost $0 but needed card details at checkout, and unless cancelled it renewed into a monthly Plus subscription. It had to be activated before July 23 at 1:30 PM UTC.
  • Referral promotion, ended July 17, 2026. A July 14 post let Plus and Pro subscribers earn up to 7 days of unlimited Seedance 2.0 by inviting friends; the friends saw up to 60% off a paid plan. Invites had to go out before July 17.
  • 33 days of unlimited Seedance, activation closed August 9, 2026. This offer started at the Plus plan, so it was paid.

The help center's current answer to "Is there a free trial before buying a subscription?" is that there is no trial period. Guides that still promise a "Higgsfield free trial" are describing the July offer.

3. Promo codes: where real ones come from

Higgsfield's help center article "How do promocodes work?" (dated August 3, 2026) is the source for everything in this section.

  • What a code gives: a discount on a plan or bonus credits.
  • Where codes come from: marketing promos are announced first on Higgsfield's official social media channels; community events in the Higgsfield Discord are another source; and the support team sometimes issues a code as compensation, case by case, which cannot be requested.
  • How to redeem: click your avatar, open Manage Account, choose Promocode in the left sidebar, then Enter code. The benefit applies instantly and the page shows the discount and the credits added.
  • Limits: some codes are limited by time or number of uses, one code activates once unless its terms say otherwise, and support codes expire if not activated within 7 days.
  • Expiry: promo credits expire on the date shown when they are added, and they stay usable on the free plan after you cancel, until that date.

We found no promo code published on Higgsfield's own pages on 2026-11-01. Coupon sites list several, with claims such as a percentage off; none of those sites is Higgsfield, we did not test their codes, and we do not repeat them here.

Two more Higgsfield discounts work without a code, and the help center explains both:

  • Promo prices are first-payment prices. A promo price covers the first payment or the period the offer states; the next billing cycle renews at the standard plan price.
  • Exclusive Offers are personal. They are shown to active subscribers only, vary from account to account and cannot be requested.

4. The unlimited offer running now is not free

Higgsfield's 7-Day Unlimited Bonus, announced October 30, 2026, gives seven days of unlimited generation on Seedream 5.0 Pro, GPT Image 2.5, Nano Banana Pro and Seedance 2.5. It comes with eligible Pro, Plus, Max and Ultra subscriptions for a limited time; Starter is excluded, and a free account gets nothing from it.

Seedance 2.5 is the part most people want, and it is narrower than the headline:

  • Monthly Pro and Plus do not include it.
  • Monthly Max includes it at 480p; annual Pro, Plus and Max and monthly Ultra at 720p; annual Ultra at 1080p.
  • Every option caps a clip at 20 seconds, and only one unlimited video runs at a time.

For what each paid plan costs, see our Higgsfield pricing guide; for Higgsfield next to other generators on refunds and credit expiry, see AI video pricing and terms compared.

5. Before you pay Higgsfield to "try it"

If the free account is not enough and you pay for a plan to test the models, three help center rules matter:

  1. Refunds depend on zero credits used. Within 7 days of the initial purchase, a subscription with no credits spent can be refunded, minus a service fee of up to 6%. Spend one credit and it cannot be. Free generations and unlimited generations do not count as usage.
  2. Renewals are not refundable. Cancel before the renewal date in Manage Account, under Subscription.
  3. Unlimited stays on higgsfield.ai. Generations through MCP, CLI, Canvas or Supercomputer always deduct credits.

6. If you want one clean clip without a subscription

Cicadas has no free plan either: a new account gets one free watermarked video (5 seconds, 480P, on a supported page, voucher valid 7 days, daily places limited), and everything after that is paid. What it does differently is sell credits in one-time packs and show the price of each clip before you generate. The $9.90 pack holds 1,000 credits, valid for 365 days, with no subscription.

  • MiniMax H3 Max: 63 credits (about $0.62) for 5 seconds at 480P, or 125 (about $1.24) for 10 seconds, with generated sound. A paid clip downloads without a watermark.
  • Seedance 2.5: 276 credits (about $2.73) for 5 seconds at 480p.
  • Kling 4.0 and other models show their own quote on their page.

A failed generation returns its credits automatically; a finished clip you do not like is still charged, so start short. If Higgsfield's Katana skill is what brought you here, our Katana alternative has Claude write a motion-graphics video and renders the MP4 in your browser, with no Higgsfield subscription.

The cover of this post is minimax-city-rain, a 5-second 480P vertical clip with sound recorded on the MiniMax H3 page, the 63-credit clip size quoted above: umbrellas crossing a wet city street at night, seen from a high window.

How we checked

On 2026-11-01 we loaded these Higgsfield pages and took every statement above from them: the help center articles on plans, promo codes, promo prices, Exclusive Offers, credits, watermarks, Unlimited models and refunds for unused subscriptions (dated July 30 to August 3, 2026); the blog posts on the one-day trial (July 22), the referral promotion (July 14), the 33-day Seedance offer, pricing (October 24) and the 7-Day Unlimited Bonus (October 30); and the AI image page. Higgsfield's pricing page only renders its plans in the browser, so for plan prices we point to our own reading of it in the pricing guide. Cicadas prices come from our generator's per-second rates, rounded up to whole credits as the generator does, at the $9.90 pack. Method: how we test.
